Beverly

Beverly, or "Bev" as we call her, began appearing on my garage camera in September 2026 looking for food. Each night I would leave out a meal, and each night this skinny, starving cat faithfully returned.

From the night-vision camera, it looked like she was wearing a collar, which suggested she had once belonged to someone. One evening I set a trap inside the garage, and after a few cautious sniffs, Bev walked right in for dinner. She was calm, friendly, and clearly familiar with people.

The collar told the rest of the story.

It was badly frayed from years of wear and had become so tight that Bev could barely swallow. It had likely been put on her as a kitten and never adjusted as she grew. Years of neglect had left her struggling to eat and survive on her own. Worse still, a large mass of tissue had formed inside her mouth, creating a hole in the roof of her mouth and pushing her upper lip outward.

The wonderful doctors and staff at Graceful Paws Pet Clinic were able to remove the damaged tissue, repair the hole, and save all of the affected teeth. Despite our efforts, Bev was not microchipped, and after reviewing more than a year's worth of lost pet reports, we were unable to locate her family.

Bev, however, had already decided where she belonged.

She immediately embraced indoor life, loves to climb anything she can reach, and talks endlessly...and loudly. There is never any doubt when Bev has something important to say. Sometimes you find cats, and sometimes they find you. Thank you, Bev, for choosing us as your family.
