Gracie was the tiniest of kittens when I received a call asking if I could rescue her. The caller gave me the address of a nearby woman who had found the kitten but was unable to care for her. Before hanging up, she added one unusual detail: "She's Catholic."
When I arrived, I understood exactly what she meant. The home was filled with religious images, paintings of saints, nativity scenes, scripture, and the likenesses of popes spanning centuries. Hidden behind a curio cabinet in the middle of it all was a tiny gray kitten trying her best to stay out of sight.
Given her surroundings, I felt I had no choice but to name her Gracie.
Today, Gracie is everything her name suggests. She is unbelievably kind, gentle with everyone she meets, and loves every cat in the sanctuary, whether they return the affection or not. She truly is a gift.
Gracie also faces ongoing health challenges, including Bartonella and acromegaly. Sponsoring Gracie helps provide the medical care she needs to enjoy a long, comfortable, and happy life.
